Virtual Volunteering
Broken Rainbow Needs You!

Do you have skills you'd like to share but time is an issue? Do you wish you could give more to help others but work/private life/general things get in the way? We have come up with a way you can help. Virtual Volunteering!
How does it work?
You can then give however much time you have available: ten minutes a year; an hour a day; do the task to completion. You can volunteer once, twice or a hundred times. Virtual volunteering is dependent entirely on your schedule with no pressure from us.
Our virtual volunteers (and our thanks goes out to them :)

V.V. Tasks Available as of July 2009:
- Suggesting slogans for our advertising.
- Investigating the services available to LGBT experiencing domestic violence in your local area: does your GP have our posters up? Do they know to refer to us? Does your council mention LGBT people in their domestic violence policy? Do they have our details on their pages? Does your police station have our leaflets? Do you have LGBT Liaison officers locally who can be approached regarding LGBT domestic violence? Does your A&E department have our leaflets? Does your local paper run stories that you think might be LGBT domestic violence but as not presented in that way?
- Database completion and tidy up (GPs, A&E's, etc)
- Quote gathering from various DV agencies or high profile LGBT people...or even not so high profile; DV affects everyone.
- Your own story surrounding domestic violence for us to put on the site (we can put it under a different name if you'd like) or inclusion into press releases, etc
- Articles on domestic violence and the impact it can have on individuals, familes, children, employers, employees...
- Artwork (web banners, forum banners, facebook graphics...)
- Organising fundraising events locally or helping us with the ones we are running
- Commenting on domestic violence news stories or forum posts, reminding people that DV is not a gender issue but a human issue; 1 in 4 LGBT people experience domestic violence.
